...and Katy Perry creates fake news with AI

Good morning, humans.

There are new editing tools for AI music and a new competitor; Leonardo AI presents improvements for generating images; Freepik acquires Magnific AI, and Katy Perry creates fake news with AI.

Intoday's newsletter, we include:

Let's get started!

Udio now has audio editing tools.

Udio launches Audio Inpainting

Udio has just launched Audio Inpainting, a new feature designed to allow selective audio editing by regenerating track segments based on the surrounding audio. This tool provides audio users with the ability to refine vocal lines, correct errors, or create smooth transitions between sections.

In conjunction with the new feature, Udio is launching subscription tiers ranging from $10 to $30 per month. The free tier remains, providing 100 monthly credits with daily top-ups of 10 credits that expire the same day.

ElevenLabs begins to sing

ElevenLabs enters the music scene

Better known for its natural-sounding artificial voices and its impressive voice cloning, ElevenLabs has announced it is working on a music generator that includes realistic AI vocals.

Although the AI music from ElevenLabs is in development and only accessible to the internal team, the samples shared suggest its quality surpasses Udio, covering a wide spectrum of musical genres.

Leonardo AI introduces 'Content Reference'

Leonardo AI presented two new features to visualize and manipulate images: Content Reference and Mix-master.

Content Reference

Content Reference
Content Reference is a tool designed to take the shape and structure of any image and use it to guide the generation of a new image. Users can dictate the color and style of the generated image, making Content Reference an excellent option for restyling existing images.

Mix-Master

Mix-master
Mix-master allows users to add up to four style references and adjust their weight independently. In this way, textures, genres, and artistic styles can be merged to create images like never before.

The strength of the style reference is shared between references, but the weight of each can be adjusted independently. This gives creators unprecedented flexibility to experiment and refine their visual compositions.

Upscaled Images with Magnific.

Freepik integrates Magnific

Freepik announced that it has acquired startup Magnific, known for its image upscaler. Freepik already has a comprehensive AI suite and a strong user base.

Katy Perry's Instagram Post

Katy Perry uses AI to create fake news

Katy Perry posted AI-generated images on Instagram, pretending she was at the Met Gala. This fooled many people, including her own mother, who texted her: "Didn't know you went to the Met." Oops.
